Donatello’s David doesn’t even blow up your business. The award ceremony, live, will begin at least at 21.30, hoping not to slip further, also because it would end late at night considering the amount of prizes to be awarded. Flavio Insinna and Bianca Balti will conduct the 71st edition of the David Awards of Donatello, live on Rai 1 and 4K on the Rai4K channel, number 210 of Tivùsat, live on Rai Radio2 – with the conduct of Martina Martorano and Massimo Cervelli – and will also be available on the RaiPlay platform. To host the evening will be the Studies of Cinecittà, in the new Theatre 23 inaugurated for the occasion.
David di Donatello 2026, la lunga serata
During the ceremony, twenty-six David Prizes from Donatello (here the nominations), a David from Carriera and a David Speciale will be awarded. David at Carriera will be assigned to one of the most important and award-winning authors of our cinema, Gianni Amelio, while the David Speciale will go to Bruno Bozzetto, undisputed master of Italian and international animation. Among the awards already announced, David as Best International Film at One Battle After Another (A Battle After The Other) and the David of the Shower in Buen Camino by Gennaro Nunziante.
It will also be awarded the Special Prize Cinecittà David 71 – promoted by Cinecittà in collaboration with the Accademia del Cinema Italiano – to the great author of the cinematography Vittorio Storaro.
To get more nominations was the film Le città di plain con 16 candidatures, followed by La Grazia con 14, Le assaggiatrici con 13, detached Fuori, Duse e La città prohibitita con 8.
Ospiti annunciati
Among the guests of the evening will be Matthew Modine, Stefania Sandrelli, Annalisa, Raoul Bova, Margherita Vicario, Arisa, Francesca Michielin, Tommaso Paradiso, Angela Finocchiaro and Nino Frassica.
Ornella Muti will also participate in the ceremony, which will go on stage to collect the David Speciale assigned by the Accademia del Cinema Italiano in the past edition.
