Spring, after 4 David by Donatello arrives on Sky and NOW the film dedicated to Vivaldi

Winner of 4 David awards by Donatello, arrives on Sky and NOW Spring from Tuesday 12 May 2026 on Sky Cinema and available on demand. The film is distributed by Warner Bros Italia and has not arrived on HBO Max for the recent new agreement between Sky and Warner Bros Discovery that has reported the channels of the group on the platform and previewed the distribution of some first-vision films on Sky (others in second vision).

Freely taken from the novel Stabat Mater of Tiziano Scarpa published in Italy by Einaudi, Primavera, puts the transformative power of music at the centre, telling the encounter between two souls in search of affirmation and freedom: that of Cecilia, suspended between the need to know its origins and the desire for a different future, and that of Vivaldi, a composer overwhelmed by a creative urgency able to change forever who listens it. A Warner Bros production. Entertainment Italia and Indigo Film, at the David of Donatello 2026 was awarded for Best composer, Best sound, Best costumes and Best hairstyle.

Primavera, la trama

Early in the 18th century. The Pietà Hospital is the largest orphanage in Venice, but it is also an institution that initiates the most brilliant orphans to study music. His orchestra is one of the most appreciated in the world. Cecilia is twenty years old, she has always lived at Pietà and is an extraordinary violinist. Art has unfolded its mind but not the doors of the orphanage; it can perform only in there, behind a grate, for rich patrons. This until a spring wind suddenly shakes his life. Everything changes with the arrival of the new violin teacher. His name is Antonio Vivaldi.

Il cast

Set in the Venice of the early eighteenth century, the film is the debut of the film directed by Damiano Michieletto, a theatrical director who also took care of the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Olympics. In the center the story of Cecilia, interpreted by Tecla Insolia, young and talented violinist raised at the Hospital della Pietà, an institution that welcomes and forms the orphans through music. Equipped with an extraordinary talent, Cecilia lives however a condition of recruitment: she can perform only behind a grate, never really get in touch with the outside world.

His life changes with the arrival of the new violin master, Antonio Vivaldi, interpreted by Michele Riondino, a charismatic and tormented figure, able to recognize and free the potential of the young musician. Next to them, Andrea Pennacchi as Governor of the Hospital of Pietà, figure that embodies the authority of the institution, and Stefano Accorsi as Sanfermo, noble and patron destined to influence the future of the protagonist.
