Il Prescelto, la trama

Policeman Edward Malus (Nicolas Cage) stops a station wagon to return to a child the doll he had lost. A few minutes later, an escaped truck crashes into the car, which catches fire with his mother and daughter trapped inside. Unfortunately, Edward can’t pull them out before the car explodes and then spend the following months feeling guilty. But Edward is about to have another chance. One day he received a desperate letter without any postmark, sent by his former girlfriend, Willow (Kate Beahan).

In the letter, Willow writes that his daughter Rowan is missing and Edward is the only person who can help her. Edward then goes to a private island, the Summersisle, a place where time seems to have stopped. Soon Edward will learn at his own expense that in that island nothing is as it seems and that he cannot trust the mysterious inhabitants of the island.
