The Constance fiction comes back in replay on Rai 1 at the end of summer 2026. During the season 2026/27 it should return with the second season. The series draws inspiration from the character of a paleopatologue created by Alessia Gazzola, and which is interpreted by Miriam Dalmazio. It will be 4 first evenings and 8 episodes for the fiction produced by Banijay Studios Italia, directed by Fabrizio Costa, written by Salvatore Basile and Fabrizia Midulla.
Costanza, la trama
In the center of history there is Constance, a single mother living in Messina with her daughter Flora, a doctorate, specialized in Paleopathology the science that studies ancient diseases and that investigates the secrets hidden in the human remains of the past, bringing to light forgotten lives. But Constance works as a food delivery at least until she wins a research check in Verona where she finds her sister Toni who is a psychologist.
But in Verona he lives Marco, architect and above all father of Flora who never knew he had. The relationship between Constance and Mark was short but intense, broken when she found out she was engaged to marry. Marco turns out to be a careful and caring father who does not leave Constance indifferent. Luckily there is Ludovico, a colleague of Constance, a scholar of ancient languages that makes her smile. But in the Constance department you must look at Diana’s ambitious historical that contends for her the fixed place and the judgement of her new boss, Professor Melchiorre. The task of Constance will be to reconstruct the story of Selvaggia Di Staufen illegitimate daughter of Frederick II of Swabia, who will give voice through a podcast.

1×01 After finishing the rider’s turn on the streets of Messina, Constance discovers that she has won a research check in Verona, where she lives her sister Toni and where she can finally work as a paleopatologa, her specialization. His daughter, Seienne Flora, disillusioned with change, insists on meeting her father who has never met, and so Constance decides to contact Marco, who lives in Verona and never knew he had a daughter. In his first day of work Constance, welcomed by the Ludovico philologist, analyzes a skeleton that turns out to have belonged to Selvaggia di Staufen, daughter of Federico II of Svevia. Encouraged by his colleague, Constance begins to record a podcast in which he tells his research.
1×02 Marco does not react well to the news of being a father and arguing with Constance, but the idea immediately begins to dig him deep: one morning he decides to follow Constance and Flora to school, to see his daughter close. Ludovico and Constance like each other, but she hesitates because the man is recently divorced. Convinced that Selvaggia di Staufen had a daughter, Constance seeks to obtain DNA from the hair braid found next to the skeleton, and continues to record her podcast. But the prof. Melchiorre, Director of the Department, communicates to Costanza and his fellow archaeologist Diana who will have to contend with the only available place for a three-year term.

1×03 While Toni advises Constance to clarify his situation both with Marco and Ludovico, Marco is preparing to meet Flora. The evening of the meeting, just when Constance and Mark seem to approach, she discovers that the girlfriend of him Federica does not yet know of the child. Diana and Anselm identify three possible fathers of Biancofiore, the daughter of Selvaggia. Constance is disturbed by the competitive attitude of the colleague, and decides to follow his intuition, revealing it in the podcast. While Ludovico takes Constance to a special place to declare her love, Marco offers to accompany Flora to the park, but Federica passes there by chance and sees them together.
1×04 Diana accuses Constance of having published in the podcast an unchecked track, which in fact will be denied by her research, causing the irritation of Melchiorre. When Diana identifies in Aldegard the real father of Biancofiore, although discouraged, Constance records another episode to remedy. Toni agrees to take in therapy the nearby pastry chef Stefano, despite him she really likes it. Federica agrees to forgive Marco, but as long as he knows Constance: after their meeting, he decides that she is not a threat to his future marriage. But one night, while Flora is with her dad, she gets high fever. Constance reaches them, and when the alarm comes back Marco touches the tension kissing it
Quinta e sesta
1×05 Constance and Mark do nothing but rethink the kiss they gave. After clarifying to Marco that it was a mistake, Constance would want to be honest with Ludovico. But when he talks to her about his intolerance for betrayal, she decides not to risk. Diana finds out she’s pregnant, but she and Anselmo react to the news with opposite feelings. Once she discovers her partner’s pregnancy, Constance approaches her. When he realizes that Aldegard’s body could be buried in Montorio, Diana supports it, and in fact the excavations reveal her skeleton. Constance reaches Ludovico to celebrate the work successes: after she confesses the kiss given to Marco, however, Ludovico leaves and leaves.
1×06 Despite the successes of the Department, further funds are denied in Melchiorre to continue research. Diana seeks a ban to continue, while Constance records what could be the last episode of her podcast: will her invective against the cut of funds rebound? Given the attraction for Stefano, Toni decides to suspend the sessions, but changes his mind when he finds him managing a son’s anger attack. Ludovico continues to avoid Constance believing that he is still too close to Marco, but Anselmo tries to make him reason, at the suggestion of Diana. To the news that the rector unlocked the funds, the colleagues celebrate and finally Constance and Ludovico reconcile.
Costanza le puntate finali
1×07 Constance and Diana investigate the noble families who could save Biancofiore. Melchiorre sends the two scholars away to France to confirm their hypothesis, but Diana is rested by the gynecologist. Federica asks Marco to know Flora: when the meeting takes place, Constance remains very troubled. Federica invites everyone to the wedding with Marco, and Constance confesses to Toni to be in full crisis. Meanwhile, Toni and Stefano kiss, and she decides to stop therapy.
1×08 After Diana’s defection, Constance departs for France with Ludovico, and Flora sleeps for the first time at Marco’s house. During a video call between mother and daughter, Marco understands that with Constance there is also Ludovico, and cannot hold back jealousy. Toni takes Stefano in the company of his ex and decides to leave him. On the return of Constance to the Department, Melchiorre announces that the three-year term will go to Diana. In the meantime, from France comes confirmation that the re-exhumed noblewoman is just Biancofiore, so Constance records the last episode of the podcast. Constance accompanies Flora to the evidence of the marriage of Marco and Federica, but it is a hard blow for her. Determined to make peace with his own feelings, Constance asks Marco a last meeting..
