Thursday, September 3, 2026 on IRIS will air the film Poseidon part of the cycle “Action” on air every Wednesday on IRIS. The film is directed by Wolfgang Petersen, a remake of Ronald Neam’s 1972 film, and is inspired by the “The Adventure of Poseidon” written by Paul Gallico. The date with the film is at 21:15 on IRIS.
Poseidon went out to the cinema in 2006 cashing a little more than 181.6 million dollars worldwide, facing a production cost of 160 million dollars. In Italy the film has cashed more than 3 million euros.
Poseidon, la trama
The film is set in a New Year’s evening, when about 2000 people were on board the Poseidon transatlantic, off the Atlantic. Poseidon is one of the most beautiful ships ever built: twenty floors, eight hundred cables and thirteen bridges.
While guests are gathered in the ballroom to celebrate the last of the year, the first officer of the ship warns everyone that something dangerous is approaching. It is an anomalous wave of hundreds of meters that will surely overwhelm them. The wave in fact will fall against the left side of the ship and will turn it. Now survivors know that to save themselves they have to move up.
