Romantic listening, Prime Video once again thought of you. Continuing to invade the web of movies and romantic series Prime Video on September 23 releases The Love Hypothesis – The Theorem of love, romantic comedy directed by Claire Scanlon and treated by Ali Hazelwood’s bestseller. A brilliant biology doctorate, interpreted by Lili Reinhart, and a professor as fascinating as feared (Tom Bateman), end up in a relationship born as simple fiction but that will lead to something different, because in the end it is a romantic comedy.
La trama
Olive Smith is a biology doctorate at Stanford University. Science is its world and academic career represents its priority, while love does not seem to have much space in its projects.
The situation changes when she finds out her best friend Anh is interested in Jeremy, a boy Olive had had a brief relationship with. To convince the friend of having passed that story, Olive makes an impulsive gesture: he kisses the first man he meets in the department corridor. The problem is that that man is Adam Carlsen, one of the most feared professors of the university. Adam is brilliant, demanding and has the reputation of being particularly difficult to approach.
From that episode a seemingly simple arrangement arises. Olive and Adam decide to pretend to be a couple, with precise rules and advantages for both. What should only be an expedient, however, begins to become more and more complicated when real feelings begin to get confused with the act. Among workshops, conferences, organized appointments and embarrassing situations, Olive finds himself having to test a much more difficult theory than those studied at university: to understand if love can really be demonstrated.
Il cast
Lili Reinhart plays Olive Smith, the young researcher who tries to keep separate sentimental life and academic career. Tom Bateman is instead Dr. Adam Carlsen, the professor who Olive involuntarily involves in his plan and with which he ends up establishing a relationship very different from the initial one.
In the cast there are also Rachel Marsh as Anh, Nicholas Duvernay as Jeremy, Jaboukie Young-White as Malcolm and Arty Froushan as Tom Benton, Harvard professor and Adam’s friend.
Directed by Claire Scanlon, while the script is signed by Sarah Rothschild. Ali Hazelwood, author of the novel, also supervised the project as an executive producer.
