On Monday, September 28, Iris will air the American film “Unbroken“, produced and directed by Angelina Jolie, and taken from the novel by Laura Hillenbrand, which tells the true story of the Olympic champion Louis Zamperini. The film was released at the cinema in 2014 cashing around US$161.4 million worldwide, of which 115.6 million were cashed in the US market. In Italy the film, distributed by Universal, has cashed well 2,3 million euros.
Unbroken, la trama
The film tells the true story of the Olympic athlete, Louis Zamperini, who during World War II survived an air accident and then became a prisoner of war. Louis grows in the street, it seems that his fate is marked, the crime world is sucking him, but thanks to his brother, who decides to train him as an athlete, manages to get out.
Louis then began to become passionate and also win important races, until he came to represent the United States in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He always followed the words of his brother: “If you can stop the pain, you can do it” and this advice will serve him in one of the worst moments of his life. The plane in which he was traveling is struck during an air strike and is found a month later by the Japanese, who make him prisoner and torture him to the end, trying to bring down a spirit that is indomitable.
