The film, released in 2006, was directed by Spike Lee and lasted about 129 minutes.
Inside Man, la trama del film
In New York, a group of whitewashed robbers enters the Manhattan Trust branch and hostages employees and clients. The gang is Dalton Russell, a methodical criminal who seems to have planned every step of the shot. Detectives Keith Frazier and Bill Mitchell arrive on site, in charge of managing the emergency and dealing with the kidnappers.
While Frazier seeks to obtain the liberation of hostages without causing a bloodbath, the story takes increasingly mysterious contours. The president of the bank, in fact, fears that the content of a safe deposit box may compromise his position and decides to involve Madeline White, a powerful mediator with contacts at the top of New York politics. His entry into the negotiations further complicates police work.
The identity of robbers and hostages become difficult to distinguish and investigators struggle to rebuild what really happened within the bank. The Dalton plan, meanwhile, is more articulated than the authorities had imagined. The robbery is not only about money: behind the blow there is a secret destined to emerge even after the end of the siege.
