Third season for Vigil, English thriller with Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie of Sky where every season there is a murder in an unusual location, after the submarine and the case related to drones, in this third chapter Vigil moves into a remote research base in the Arctic with an investigation that could turn into an international crisis. Vigil 3 returns to Italy Sunday 18 October 2026 with six new episodes, exclusively on Sky and streaming on NOW, with two episodes per week until 1 November.
Vigil 3, la trama della terza stagione
After the investigations set in the ocean depths in the first season and the threat of drones faced in the second, the series moves the action between the Arctic ice and the Svalbard Islands. A member of a secret mission of British Special Forces is killed at a remote research station. Amy Silva, head inspector, and Kirsten Longacre, inspector, must identify the manager and prevent the case from causing a confrontation between nations.
What initially seems to be a murder investigation gradually expands to involve geopolitical interests, energy security and competition for polar resource control. In a context marked by climate change and new international balance, the search for truth becomes increasingly complex and also jeopardizes the careers of the two investigators.
The new season also addresses the evolution of the relationship between Amy and Kirsten. After meeting in the first season and having crossed Kirsten’s pregnancy in the second, the two women are now married and have two children. The distance imposed by the new survey, Kirsten’s return to work after maternity and the different professional responsibilities force her to find a new balance between private life and career, comparing with questions of trust and ambition.
Il cast di Vigil 3
The protagonists of the third season are Suranne Jones and Rose Leslie, who return as Amy Silva and Kirsten Longacre respectively. The two actresses resume the roles of the investigators already at the center of the previous chapters, in a story that interweaves the criminal case with the personal consequences of their work.
The series is created by Tom Edge and is a World Productions production, made in association with ITV Studios for BBC. The director of the new episodes is entrusted to Gareth Bryn and Faye Gilbert.
