We, a little better is the new film by Daniele Luchetti with Elio Germano and Maria Chiara Giannetta, available on Netflix from 29 October 2026. Presented at the Rome Film Festival, the comedy tells the story of a couple who decides to take the path of adoption, facing bureaucratic difficulties and personal differences. Produced by Lucky Red, the film is written by Luchetti, with Enrico Audenino, Davide Lantieri and Serena Patrignanelli.
Noi, un po’ meglio: la trama del film
Simone is a fireman with a strong sense of the family, while Lucia, an independent and insurgent nurse to conventions, has always been contrary to motherhood. They have been together for four years and, despite the differences, they have built a solid relationship, also fed by continuous daily negotiations.
When they decide to take the path of adoption, their beliefs are put to the test. Colloquis, psychological tests, documents and meetings with institutions transform the choice into a complex adventure, in which fears and desires emerge that the couple had never faced to the end.
The path does not only concern the possibility of becoming parents, but also the way in which Simone and Lucia are perceived individually and as a couple. The challenge is to find a balance between your needs and the willingness to change, without sacrificing your identity.
