News TV series: Netflix announces Stranger Things prequel; Grey’s Anatomy spinoff postponed

The Korean romantic fantasy TV series The remarried princess of Disney+ in 3 days became the best debut for a local original as diffused by the platform. Adam Driver officially stated that it will not be in the 5 episode revival of Girls announced by Lena Dunahm for HBO.

Netflix ordina il prequel di Stranger Things

He’s been talking about it for a long time, but was there really a need? In difficulty with the absence of strong titles that capture media attention, Netflix ordered the Stranger Things prequel-spinoff TV series created by Kate Trefry and Duffer directed by Joe Wright. Other Worlds: Stranger Things Adventure will be set in the 1950s before the series but also the theatrical show The First Shadow. In a first teaser trailer it turns out that the TV series will be set in 1955 in Marion Nevada and the specific date of the video is April 19.

I Duffer have repeatedly said that they were thinking about this idea since the summer of 2022 after the season 4. The series will have new characters, new stories about the theatrical show but the ties with The First Shadow are obvious. The story will be set in Nevada just like the theatrical show.

Continuing to talk about Netflix, which also renewed Nobody Wants this for a fourth season, the company is in negotiation to acquire the Redford Studio Center.

ABC tra palinsesto e rinvio dello spinoff di Grey’s Anatomy

The expected Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, set in Texas in a hospital that represents the last frontier in an isolated area, will not be released in the spring of 2027 as originally planned. But it is not the fault of the writers or decisions of ABC as the California bureaucracy. In fact, the series would have had to turn to Los Angeles just like Grey’s Anatomy and as for years Shondaland and ABC do with many of their productions.

The showrunner Meg Marinis has so announced that the series will come out in the season 2027-28, Betsy Beers, historical collaborator of Shonda Rhimes, explained that they tried to get tax credit incentives last summer but were rejected because they would not have guaranteed new jobs enough to be considered useful, without therefore counting all the pregress they have realized. They then tried again in autumn but for the second time incentives were rejected. So now they have found an agreement with Albuquerque in New Mexico where pre-production has already begun. So in the next few weeks we have to expect further updates on both the plot and the cast of the series (as well as the title).

In the meantime, ABC announced all its stake for the second part of the season, with the returns of Will Trent, High Potential and Shifting Gears. The most interesting news is the arrival of a crime docuserie on Tuesday evening seen the move of The Rookie on Wednesday with comedy and his spinoff The Rookie North.
