Anna and Robert are spending a holiday on an island with their children. After a day at the sea, they decide to reach some friends in a nearby place, leaving children asleep in the apartment. On their return, however, they find that little Lily is missing.
The complaint initiates an extensive research operation involving police, volunteers and media. With the passing of hours, however, the investigations take an unexpected direction. If initially the suspects focus on a local man, the investigators soon begin to question the behavior of the same parents, convinced that the couple is hiding fundamental details about what happened that night.
While accusations are getting heavier and media pressure grows, Anna and Robert try to prove his innocence. The help of a local journalist opens a new investigative track, bringing back the hope that Lily can still be alive and that the truth is different from that hypothesized until that moment.
