Ready from July 2024 and initially announced in 2025, it finally arrived from October 9, 2026 on Rai 2 and RaiPlay, Estranei a crime directed by Cosimo Alemà, with Elena Radonicich, Ricky Memphis, Kel Giordano, Marco Cocci and Isabella Ferrari. The fiction is set in Correggio, in the heart of the Emilian plain, where the Italian community and the Sikh community have lived for years, one of the most numerous in Italy. The disappearance of Camilla and Manraj, two young people belonging to the two communities, is likely to revive conflicts and prejudices, while the protagonist Laura Macchi (Radoncich) is forced to return to the country from which she had fled years earlier. Many themes gathered in this fiction, from integration, immigration, community coexistence, to those most dear to the generalist seriality of the return to the home, the small centre and the crime.
Estranei, la trama
Laura Macchi is a shopkeeper stationed in Trieste, used to manage delicate situations trying to understand the psychology of people before resorting to force. His life changes when he has to return to Correggio, the birthplace he had left behind, to take care of the sick father. The return, however, coincides with the disappearance of Manraj, an 18-year-old sikh boy, and Camilla, a 16-year-old daughter of an old volleyball companion of Laura. The captain of the Adani Carabinieri asks her to cooperate in the investigation, hoping that her experience as a negotiator can help prevent the degenerative situation.
To give her a hand is Bisan Singh, cousin of Manraj, returned to Correggio after spending years in the Foreign Legion. Born and raised in Italy, he has never felt completely welcomed neither by the society in which he grew up nor by the community of origin. The unruento character has taken him to the judiciary in the past and then to the Foreign Legion, but the disappearance of his cousin pushes him home. The search for the two boys gradually brings to light secrets, rivalries and tensions between the two communities, up to a series of mysterious deaths that risk permanently compromising a balance built over the years.
The criminal investigation is intertwined with a more personal story, Laura must also face her past, marked by the death of her sister Martina in a domestic accident, a mourning of which she has always felt unjustly responsible. The return to Correggio forced her to confront those memories and with reports she tried to leave behind.
Il cast
Elena Radonicich plays Laura Macchi, one of the few women in Italy to play the role of shopkeeper. Apparently rational and very confident, Laura uses the ability to read people’s psychology to manage crisis situations.

Eleonora Giovanardi interpreta Paola Galli, madre di Camilla ed ex compagna di pallavolo di Laura;
Maurizio Donadoni interpreta Antonio Macchi, padre di Laura e storico sindaco di Correggio;
Valentina Carnelutti interpreta Silvia Carulli, medico legale e amica storica di Laura;
Sebastian Luque Herrera interpreta Matteo, giovane fisioterapista che si occupa di Antonio e che sviluppa un rapporto particolare con Laura.
