VisionQuest, from October 14 on Disney+ the new Marvel series

The journey of Vision after the events of WandaVision continues with VisionQuest, the new Marvel Television series available on Disney+ from 14 October 2026. Paul Bettany returns to play the Marvel Cinematic Universe android in a story that addresses the relationship between memory, identity and artificial intelligence, bringing Ultron, the character played by James Spader in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The series, developed by Terry Matalas, represents the final chapter of the television trilogy begun in 2021 with WandaVision and continued in 2024 with Agatha All Along.

VisionQuest, la trama

After being reactivated and escaping those who intended to use it as a weapon, Vision chose to live hidden, trying to understand what its place in the world can be. To find an answer questions the different personalities of artificial intelligence present in their programming, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H. and Ultron, the system responsible for its own creation and in the past foe of the Avengers.

His existence changes when a size is placed on his head, forcing him to flee along with Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who might be the reincarnation of his son. While trying to escape those who want to capture him, Vision must confront Ultron’s influence and doubts about his nature, while trying to discover the true identity of the accompanying young man. The story thus resumes some of the central themes of WandaVision, deepening the consequences of the reconstruction of the android and his attempt to build an autonomous existence.

Alongside Paul Bettany, the series featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe James Spader as Ultron, and introduced Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas Shepherd. Several interpreters also give a human face to the artificial intelligences developed by Tony Stark, who Vision meets during his journey.

VisionQuest, quando escono gli episodi su Disney+

The first season of VisionQuest consists of eight episodes, distributed exclusively on Disney+ from Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The platform will publish two episodes a week for the first three weeks, passing a weekly appointment until the final of November 11.

Il collegamento con WandaVision e Agatha All Along

To understand the story of VisionQuest it is important to start again from the final of WandaVision, when a completely white version of the android is introduced, rebuilt by S.W.O.R.D. using its original body. While comparing the vision created by Wanda within Westview, this new version recovers memories previously blocked and moves away without clarifying its intentions.

The series resumes precisely from this situation, telling the difficulties of an artificial being that possesses memories of a previous life without necessarily having the same identity. The connection with Agatha All Along instead concerns the Maximoff family and the fate of the sons of Wanda and Vision, one of the elements that return to the center of history through the character of Thomas Shepherd. VisionQuest then closes the television trilogy dedicated to these characters, while focusing mainly on the individual path of the android.
