Baywatch, the new TV series will arrive on the Rai (after Prime Video)

After reissued the original series, the Rai (almost certainly the same Rai 2) will also bring in Italy the new TV series of Baywatch the sequel/reboot with Stephen Amell who will debut in January on FOX in the USA. But the broadcast in clear on Rai 2 will arrive only after the first passage on Prime Video that bought the TV series from Fremantle (which produces and distributes) for Italy, France, Germany, India, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Benelux and not only (in the UK and Ireland took it Sky) and that will probably release it simultaneously with the USA.

In the middle of the story there is a new generation of beachguard, called to collect the legacy of the original team between sea rescues, personal relationships and professional rivalry. The setting is always that of Los Angeles and the confidence in the TV series is high to the point that a second season is practically given for certain with the dispute that has already granted permissions. The link with the original Baywatch series is very strong since the protagonist is the son of Mitch Buchannon (the historical protagonist played by David Hasselhoff).

Baywatch la trama

The new series starts from the Buchannon family and introduces a story that connects Baywatch’s past to new characters. Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell, became captain of the lifeguard team, following the footsteps of his father Mitch, the character made famous by David Hasselhoff in the original series. His life changes when he comes to his door Charlie Vale, interpreted by Jessica Belkin: the girl is his daughter, whose existence was unconscious, and wants to join the team to continue the family tradition.
In addition to rescue operations along the southern California coast, the series will follow the difficulties of a team composed of different personalities, presences with emergencies, sentimental ties and tensions at work. The sequel/reboot reproduces the most recognizable elements of the franchise, including iconic red costumes and slow-down runs on the beach, setting them in a contemporary context.
