If tonight, Thursday, October 15, you are looking for something that combines pure adventure, adrenaline and a good dose of emotions, there is a precise answer: Arthur the King – Along with all costs. The 2024 film directed by Simon Cellan Jones airs in the first evening on Rai 3 and tells a true story almost incredible. That of an athlete who, in the middle of one of the most extensive races on the planet, meets a stray dog and ends up completely changing his priorities.
La trama
Michael Light is an adventure racing athlete who does not resign himself to the idea of closing his losing career. He wants a last chance to win the World Championship in Dominican Republic. He put together a team of professionals willing to everything and part for a crazy race of hundreds of kilometers between jungles, rivers and impervious peaks. During a break, Michael shares a bit of his food with a malconcil stray dog. That simple gesture changes everything: the animal – renamed Arthur – begins to follow them everywhere, facing guades, climbs and dangers like athletes. When the forces begin to fail and the conditions of the dog worsen, the race turns into a race against time to save their new friend.

The film has conquered above all those seeking inspiration and action stories. Rotten Tomatoes recorded a 70% critical acclaim and even higher enthusiasm from the public (with an average IMDb vote around 7.0/10). The reviewers emphasize how the alchemy between Mark Wahlberg and the dog works well on the screen, giving touching moments without being too artificial. Some highlight the classic structure and a pinch of typically Hollywood rhetoric, but overall the criticism agrees: it is a solid movie, ritmato and perfect for the whole family.
