In joy and pain is the new film by Ferzan Ozpetek, coming to Italian theatres on December 17 with Vision Distribution. After the success of Diamanti, the director returns on the big screen with a story that revolves around Adriana Paris, a movie diva whose life, apparently realized, progressively begins to lose its reference points. The first official trailer offers a preview of the film, which can count on a choral cast and on a soundtrack enriched by four tracks from Mina.

In the centre of history there is Adriana Paris, interpreted by Vanessa Scalera, a diva celebrated by the public and surrounded by people with whom he built deep ties. In his life they live a group of very united friends, a marriage that over time changed form and a secret, passionate and elusive love, which never managed to live to the fullest.
While the career reaches its peak and the sentimental dimension becomes more and more intense, something begins to crack. Adriana seems to gradually lose its certainties and the boundary between time and truth becomes increasingly difficult to recognize. The crisis also involves people who are close to them, called to confront themselves with aspects of themselves that perhaps they preferred to keep hidden.

Next to Vanessa Scalera, the film brings together a particularly rich cast. Among the protagonists are Sabrina Ferilli, Luca Argentero, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Mara Venier, Geppi Cucciari, Liliana Bottone, Carmine Recano, Alvise Rigo, Erik Tonelli, Marco Aceti, Franco Ciotoli, Milena Mancini, Giselda Volodi, Loredana Cannata, Lorenzo Franzin and Andrea Di Luigi. Milena Vukotic is also featured in the cast, while Amanda Lear takes part in the film with a friendly participation.
The script is signed by Ferzan Ozpetek along with Carlotta Corradi and Elisa Casseri. The direction of photography is entrusted to Gian Filippo Corticelli, while Deniz Kobanbay takes care of the scenography and Stefano Ciammitti costumes. The installation is by Pietro Morana, the music is composed by Giuliano Taviani and Carmelo Travia.
